Want to Know Jesus?
Are you ready to meet Jesus? Has He peeked your interest? What’s the process? How do relationships begin in general? Usually there’s some type of introduction. Either a friend or relative introduces you or you meet during activities of common interest. There’s an attraction, a desire to get to know more about the other person. Do you desire to know more about Jesus?
Well, He knows all about you. He knows all of your strengths and weaknesses. He knows about all the skeletons in your closet. He knows every quirk and idiosyncrasy. He knows what makes you smile, laugh and cry. He knows every heartache, pain and concern. The important thing for you to know is that He loves you because of and in spite of everything you are. He knows He can meet every need in your life and is willing to do it. He sees you in the fullness of your possibilities. He loves you from afar and wants a relationship with you. He’s demonstrated His love for you by sacrificing His life for you. His heart soars with excitement of the possibility that you will develop a loving and lasting relationship with Him. He wants you to love him too.
This is the time to introduce yourself. Your time to let Him know that you see what He has done for you. That you accept His sacrifice. That you accept His love. That you accept Him. God loves you so much that He sacrificed a part of Himself, Jesus, so that He could have this relationship with you. He planned it from the beginning. He knew that the angel of light was jealous of who we were created to be. He knew that the angel of light was our enemy and plotted to deceive us; so He made provision for us to be restored, reconciled to Himself.
He is a loving God and will never force or coerce anyone into a relationship. His hand is out stretched and He is waiting for you to decide. He is knocking on the door of your heart, patiently waiting for you to let Him in. Are you ready? The process is so simple. Just talk to Him. Introduce yourself and begin a relationship with someone who is awesome and mighty and capable and willing to meet every need in your life. Someone who will stick with you through the good times and bad.
Repeat the Following Prayer Out Loud:
Dear God,
I accept Jesus as Lord and savior of my life. I believe with my heart that Jesus was sacrificed and paid the cost of my sins. He rose from the dead and rejoined you as my high priest. I am sorry for all that I have done to hurt you. I reject the plans of the enemy for my life and I open wide the door of my heart to you. Restore me. Help me be all that you have created me to be.
Truly I ask this in Jesus’ name.
Congratulations!!
That’s it. Not hard at all. Now you have just begun a relationship with the creator of the universe. How great is that? Get to know Him. Let His spirit guide you and grow this relationship. An exciting journey has just bejun with no guilt or excess baggage. Remember God knows all about you.
Now what? Begin to pray. Prayer is just a conversation. Just express yourself to Him. He’ll understand! Start your journey step by step. Learn all you can about Him and His principles and apply them in your life. Get to know Him. If you don’t have a Bible, get one. There is a website that has many versions of the Bible called Bible Gateway. I primarily use the King James Version and the Amplified Version of the Bible for my studies. You will discover which one or ones work for you. Find a fellowship of believers to congregate with for support and fellowship. Ask God for guidance in this area, there are many types and kinds of ministries available. Always remember, this is your personal relationship. Nurture and cherish it.

8) For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith.
